beauty, pasture, pleasant place
Circumstances
can look good but in reality be different.
- Gate of the City =
Place of authority, judgement, decisions
- Dead Young Man
- Open casket
funeral for a young man
- Spirit of death
had clothed the young man and mother
- He is not
seeking Jesus dead
- He has no
faith

- He can’t help
himself

- Can’t do
anything
dead
- Mother -
Widow – lost husband –
lost intimacy, promises, protection
Now lost
son – lost support, legacy, hope
Surrounded
by spirit of death and grief
- Crowd
- Overcome by
grief – unable to deal with root issue
- Jesus

Compassion – moved in heart with love, desire
Connection
– easy to avoid/withdraw
- He connected – touched the dead
Comfort
– met her first need
– words
Command
– met her real need spiritual authority
- Jesus bought
life into situation of death.
- Eph. 2:1-5 “We
were all dead in trespass and sin”
- Jesus
demonstrated love – connected – comfort – compassion
- Jesus touches
dead people and brings them to life.

and bring to life?
